Positive Story: Children's heart was pierced, now heart will continue beating


Jodhpur : The National Child Health Program - RBSK being run under the National Health Mission is proving to be a boon for complex child diseases. In the year 2018-19 in Jodhpur district, there were many such patients, whose treatment was not possible in the government hospital MDM. While selecting such children in RBSK, successful treatment was done in private hospitals in Jaipur and Jodhpur.

As many as 22 mobile health teams are working in the district under the program. Each team is going to Anganwadi, Madrasas and schools and screening 38 types of diseases with health tests in children. If found to be afflicted with the disease, the child is given a referral card and sent to a higher medical institution for treatment. Where the child is examined and treated free of charge. This program is being run in Jodhpur since 2014. Under this, successful operation has been carried out so far at Mathuradas Mathur Hospital, Medipals Hospital and Sawai Mansingh Hospital, Fortis and Naraina Hospital, Jaipur for 112 children with congenital heart disease.

According to CMHO Dr. Balwant Manda, in the year 2018-19, 348000 children have been tested for health in about 6471 institutions so far, out of which about 13 thousand children have been referred for treatment. Out of these, 4800 children have been treated by organizing camps at the block level. 400 children have been treated at Mathuradas Mathur Hospital. So far, more than 50 children have been treated through free operation. In which 40 people with congenital heart disease, 8 of severed lips and palate, 2 of neural tube defect, 2 of club $ foot, other 5 patients underwent successful operation.
