Under this scheme, children and adolescents will get free treatment of TB and leprosy.


Varanasi. Under the National Health Mission (RBSK), children have received free treatment of TB and leprosy. Special training has been given to 16 teams of RBSK already deployed on eight blocks. The team members will find out the disease in the children and ensure their treatment.

RBSK Nodal Officer Dr. AK Gupta told that the team has been entrusted with the responsibility of detecting these diseases in children from birth to 18 years. Health checkup of adolescent and adolescent is already being done with congenital disease, developmental delay. The RBSK team was entrusted with the screening of 38 diseases occurring in children and adolescents in this age group, due to which the number of these diseases has increased to 40 due to increase in TB and leprosy. Dr. Gupta said that these diseases are checked once every year in schools and twice per year in Anganwadi centers. If children are diagnosed with any type of disease in their teens, then they are treated on the spot. Now, on detection of TB and leprosy, the patient will be treated in the same way by sending them to the prescribed center. Rakesh Kumar Singh said that the team has been trained to detect the disease on the basis of symptoms. Suspected victims of the disease will be sent to Deendayal Government Hospital, Shivprasad Gupta Divisional Hospital and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
