Campaign will be done to make malnourished children healthy

Governance has become critical to make malnourished children healthy. Five departments will work together to implement the scheme. From Thursday, joint training of officers of all the five departments will start in each block. In it, a workshop will be organized to discuss and coordinate the action plan.
Gorakhpur is among the top 20 districts in the state of malnourished children in the state. The government has stepped up the exercise to improve it. A comprehensive action plan has been prepared for this. In this campaign, Basic Education Department, Women and Child Development Department, Food and Logistics Supply Department, Village Development Department and Health Department will work together. People of these departments will jointly identify malnourished children and make them benefit of the schemes.
Family members will get employment and food grains
District Program Officer Hemant Singh said that the campaign has two parts. The first is to provide employment to parents of malnourished children. For this, employment will be provided to them through MNREGA. Families of children with very malnourished children (red category) and undernourished children (yellow category) will be linked to the public distribution system to provide food grains.
